Would You Drink This?

The day after Halloween I went to the grocery store to take advantage of the reduced-price candy. Unfortunately there wasn't much of a selection, but I bought some anyway. After going home and eating one of my "Special Dark" Hershey bars, I realized that, since Milka, I can't eat a plain Hershey bar (even if it is "Special Dark.") Not wanting to eat the rest of the bar and also not wanting to waste it, it dawned on me that chocolate and coffee could go well together.

Actually, it wasn't that great at all and I only drank one cup from the pot. I figured I'd save the rest for later. When I went back the next day to reheat the leftover coffee (which Justine would say is always a no-no), this is what I saw:

So I'm not sure if that's mold or just the separation of the chocolate into cocoa, sugar and wax, but I was too disgusted to reheat it.

It is a reoccuring waking nightmare in my life. I am constantly mixing weird things in my coffee, seeking coffee bliss, only to end up with poorly melted things (think ice cream, pie, meat) and undrinkable coffee.

Oh, it takes much longer to grow coffee mold than one day. I've done it before, so I know.

Oh, I've grown mold in my coffee many many many times myself.

I grew coffee mold a couple of weeks ago. It grossed me out for a couple of minutes, but then I just made more coffee.

also, I propose a third alternative for your picture - I think your roomie was messing with you and maybe did a #2 in the pot.

It actually interests me that a candy bar has that much wax in it.
